Q: How do I create a device session?
A: Open the ClockTide app, tap "Create Session" or the "+" button. The app will generate a unique device UUID and share URL that you can use to access your synchronized clock on any browser.
Q: How long do device sessions last?
A: Device sessions automatically expire after 72 hours (3 days) of inactivity. Simply create a new session if yours has expired.
Q: How do I send messages to my display?
A: In the mobile app, select your device session and use the message input field. You can choose between popup (card display for 5 seconds) or marquee (scrolling text for 20 seconds) display styles.
Q: Can I customize the clock theme?
A: Yes! ClockTide offers 14 preset themes including Classic Black, Racing Black, Dashboard Blue, and more. Access theme settings in the app to change colors, time format, and display options.
Q: How do I use the countdown timer feature?
A: Switch to countdown mode in the app, set your desired duration, and tap start. The countdown will synchronize across all connected displays in real-time. You can pause, resume, or stop the countdown at any time.
Q: Can I upload a custom logo?
A: Yes! Go to Settings in the app and upload an image. Your logo will be displayed on the clock screen and synced across all connected devices.
Q: The display is not updating in real-time. What should I do?
A: First, check your internet connection. ClockTide uses WebSocket for real-time updates. If the connection drops, it will automatically attempt to reconnect within 3 seconds. Try refreshing the browser page or restarting the app.
Q: Is my data synced across devices?
A: Yes! All settings, messages, and countdown states are synchronized in real-time through our server. Any changes you make in the mobile app instantly appear on all connected display devices.
Q: How many messages are stored?
A: ClockTide stores the most recent 100 messages per device. Messages older than 72 hours are automatically deleted.
Q: Can I use multiple display devices with one session?
A: Absolutely! Open the share URL on as many browsers or devices as you want. All displays will show the same time, receive the same messages, and update simultaneously.
Q: What time formats are supported?
A: ClockTide supports 24-hour format (HH:MM and HH:MM:SS) and 12-hour format (with and without seconds). You can also toggle date and day of week display.
Q: Why am I seeing ads?
A: ClockTide is free to use and supported by ads. Ads help us maintain the infrastructure and improve the app while keeping it free for everyone.
